... you should know about an agreement that impacts Beloit taxpayers.
Under this agreement, all Rock County libraries must be reimbursed for loans they make to residents of cities
in Rock County outside of their service area.
This means that if you are a Beloit resident and borrow materials from another Rock County library,
the Beloit library will be billed for every item
checked out to you.
Almost all this cross-over borrowing by Beloit residents is for materials borrowed from the Hedberg
Public Library in Janesville, creating a debit which cost our Beloit taxpayers nearly $18,000 last year.
Remember - Beloit offers most of the same bestsellers, videos, reference materials and Internet services that Hedberg does. If you need something our library doesn't have, please
visit or call our Reference desk (364-2905). We will order all materials you suggest that fit our collection and budget guidelines. Usually items are available in one week. You can save a trip and save our
budget at the same time.
