The library charges for every day an item is overdue including days the library is closed. The first notification of overdue items is mailed or e-mailed one to two weeks after the due date.
Bills for long overdue items are sent when they are 6 weeks overdue. These overdue accounts may be issued a Municipal court citation with additional library and court fees
Beloit Public Library charges the replacement cost of the of the item which includes a non-refundable $4 service charge for all lost or damaged
items. If a useable lost item is found within four (4) months after payment, you may return the item with the original
receipt for a refund of the replacement cost minus the non-refundable $4 service charge. Refund checks will be mailed by the City to your home.
