Interlibrary Loan Basics

• Any customer who has a valid ALS card in good standing may borrow materials through ILLS
• There is no charge directly to the customer for ILLS other than photocopies and late fees
• Unfortunately, there is no way to predict when the material will arrive (anytime between 3 day and 6 months). If the materials are needed by a specific date that date should be included in the original request.
• The lending library determines the length of the loan period for the materials they send. This loan period will vary so please check your due dates
• This is a cooperative service; therefore, the borrowing library is obligated to return the materials by the established due date
• We can accept requests for books, periodical articles, CD's, DVD's, audiocassettes, and microfilms. We may not request circulation copies of titles we have in our non-circulating collections
• All research by the patron
• Any items received via Interlibrary Loan at Beloit Public Library must be returned at Beloit Public Library
• Should the materials become damaged or lost the customer will be charged according to the policies of the lending library.
• Beloit Public Library reserves the right to deny this service to customers who abuse this courtesy or other Beloit Public Library policies.
