Setting up a library visit for your class:

Library visits are a great way to excite your students about reading. Use the guidelines below to ensure your library visit is scheduled properly. Please note we are unable to schedule class visits during the months of May, June and July because of Summer Library Club preparation and programming.

• Child Care Providers:
  • Please either call or e-mail the library at least two weeks in advance
    
  • When you contact us for the visit, please have several dates and times in mind so that we can make sure you have the best possible visit
  • You may request one group tour / story time per year.
  • Attendance is limited to 30 children and at least 6 adult chaperones need to stay with the children at all times.
• Elementary School, Middle School, and High School Teachers:
  • Please either call or e-mail the library at least two weeks in advance
    
  • When you contact us for the visit, please have several dates and times in mind so that we can make sure you have the best possible library experience
  • If your class is getting library cards you will need to pick up the card registration forms for your class within one week of scheduling your visit
  • Please return the completed library card registration forms at least two weeks before your class visit so that the library staff can ensure that the library cards can be given out the day of your visit

Attending a Summer Library Club Family Program (Child Care Providers and School Teachers)

• You may request to attend one Summer Library Club Family Program. These programs are held in the Public Meeting Room on Thursday afternoons at 2:00pm.
• Attendance is limited to 30 children and at least 6 adult chaperones need to stay with the children at all times.

Please note: Group tours, story times and Summer Library Club Family Programs are available on a first come, first served basis. We may not be able to accommodate tours and story times from mid-May through the end of July because of Summer Library Club activities.
